Harvesting power supply system for motorcycle suitcase with lighting function

  This technology combines optical and electromechanical technology to develop a harvesting power supply system with lighting function, which can be easily connected to the motorcycle suitcase, so that the motorcycle suitcase can be illuminated and functioned as power supply with USB interface, and harvesting energy from solar energy.

The features are:

1. This technology combines optical and electromechanical technology to develop a harvesting power supply system with lighting function.

2. The standby loss of the harvesting energy system chip is only 500 μW, which can harvest the energy in low-light energy condition.

3. The harvesting energy from harvesting IC is stored in the 18650 lithium battery. Two18650 lithium batteries are parallel, and the output voltage of the converter is adjustable from 3.2V to 4.2V.

4. Patented current-limiting LED drive circuit can greatly reduce the system volume and improve system reliability.

5. Provide 5V 3A USB power supply with lithium battery by using boost circuit with the patented current limit circuit

We propose a current limiting circuit for the LED driver function.

The transistor Q2 is used provided the temperature compensated current limiting circuit. The current pass through the Q1 is kept with the designated value when the temperature varies. That means the LED driving current is not affected by the ambient temperature variation.

A power distribution method is applied to control an energy harvesting system that includes an ambient energy source, energy storage, a power converting circuit and a control unit.

With the power distribution method, the excess power generated by the ambient energy source is transmitted to charge the energy storage through the energy harvesting and conversion stage, and the load side is powered with regulation of the energy storage through another energy conversion path.

Therefore, the number of inductor switches of the power converting circuit can be reduced to mitigate switching loss and higher power conversion efficiency is achieved.

It can be used for the sale of optional accessories for motorcycle suitcase vendors, and can be applied to various types of suitcase, which greatly reduces the manufacturer’s stocking and research and development costs, and can also be applied to some general suitcase and camping and mountaineering accessories.
